Plan on losing cell service and save the directions before your trip. Don't worry, we have WIFI on site.

Get away from it all when you stay under the stars at more than 4000 feet in Pinehurst, California. Over 10 acres of stunning campground just 15 minutes from the entrance to Kings Canyon and Sequoia National Parks. Gaze all the way down into the Valley while watching amazing sunsets unfold right on your campsite doorstep.

At 4000 ft, we are high enough to feel a 10 degree temperature drop from the valley floor and low enough not to have to worry about persistent snow during the winter months.

While there are a couple ways to get here, we recommend that you take Hwy 180 east from the Fresno/Visalia area and turn south on Hwy 245 down to the property. We are five miles down Hwy 245 on the right (west) side of the road. Set the trip odometer. This is useful at night, as some cell service providers lose signal along the way. If you decide to drive north up Hwy 245 to the property, be prepared for a slow and winding drive that is not recommended for long RVs or trailers. Also, you will miss our recommended LAST STOP FOR GAS on Hwy 180 at Clingan’s Junction Valero (35468 E. Kings Canyon Rd, Yokuts Valley, CA 93675.

When arriving there are three entrances for different guest experiences. All campground sites are located through the far right entrance which has an orange cone on each side of the entrance, and a solar light for night time arrivals. Follow the dirt road down, stay to the left past the bathrooms and showers and locate your site (Sites are numbered).

The campground is behind, and below, a rental house. Feel free to roam the property and pond area, but please do not approach the house or backyard. Thank you for understanding.

We make rounds to check on guests randomly, usually late morning and early evening. We generally won't bother you unless we see you, and say hi, or need to confirm a reservation. Please just message us here or call if you need anything! :) Also, please check out the info board on the camp, and the main visitor center for Sequoia/Kings Canyon is conveniently located about 20 minutes up the road at Grant Grove too!

We are tucked just outside of the Parks and Forests in a very small and usually quiet rural mountain community. The loggers settled this area in the late 1800s and early 1900s. We have great views of the forest on one side and sunsets and city lights on the other. The only business is the Pinehurst Lodge about 1 minute away. It's a nice lil mountain bar and grill with a small general store, pool table and outdoor dining.

When adventuring or departing you simply make a left out of the property, heading north on Hwy 245. Pinehurst Lodge is one minute up the road on the left side. From the property, Hwy 180 is five miles north. Turn right on Hwy 180 (Kings Canyon Rd) to head to the entrance of the National Parks, or left to head down the mountain.

Please check out Mark's Attraction Guidebook for recommendations for last stop for gas/groceries, local restaurants and National Park attractions.

***THIS IS A TENT SITE. NO TENT OR BED PROVIDED!*** CAMPGROUND HAS FLUSHING TOILETS AND HOT SHOWERS!!!

Computer software requires us to add rooms, beds, etc...

Please be advised that if you do not have Verizon wireless, you will likely lose service at some point but many now have some services up here! Please screenshot/print the BELOW DIRECTIONS just in case.

DIRECTIONS: Navigator apps push anyone coming from the south up the 245 highway north. It is a very winding and slow climb up the hill. It's doable (except large rigs), but we HIGHLY recommend continuing north on highway 99 to Fresno and then heading east on highway 180 up the mountain. It's faster, much more scenic and a smoother drive. This route also goes right by the nearest gas station on your way up!

Coming east on highway 180, out of Fresno, that gas station is a Valero at 35468 E Kings Canyon Rd. aka Clingan's Junction. From Clingan's, head east on the 180 for exactly 13.8 miles to the 245 highway (it comes up quick with only 1 or 2 small signs), make a right, heading south. If you hit the park entrance, you went too far, turn around drive back about 5 min and look for the 245 on your left. Once on the 245 heading south, go 5.1 miles. On your right you will pass the 'Pinehurst Lodge', which is on google, an easy reference point and is 1 minute or less away (great food!). Then a few seconds later the U.S Forest Service "Work Center" is on the right and we are just past that on the same side of the road. First you will see a Giant Sequoia Tree in the front yard (campground road is just to it's right with orange cones on either side) then the apple ranch with the ole loggers cabin chimney from the late 1800s still standing in the front yard directly off the highway! If you hit the 'leaving sequoia national forest' sign and the community center, you went too far, turn around and drive 1 minute back and look for the apple ranch on your left, pass it and then turn left after the Sequoia tree into the gravel road with the orange cones coming from this direction.

ARRIVAL:

There are 3 gates for different guest experiences:

TENT SITES (CG01-CG37): Take the FAR RIGHT GATE (north gate), just to the right of the Sequoia Tree, with orange cones on either side of it and solar lights lining it.

Entering the property, the road will go slightly downhill and curve to the left. Stay to your left and our self check-in station will be on your left (If you hit the showers and restrooms, you went too far). Please fill out one of our check-in slips; putting the original in the box and the carbon copy on your site number sign, at your site. A host is usually around working somewhere and makes multiple rounds on the camp daily.

Please do not approach the house or immediate backyard for it, as this is a separate rental.

RV SITES 1 and 2: Take the MIDDLE GATE (just to the right of the mailbox). These are back in sites, no pull-through access.Look for your fluorescent power box and water spigot. Hook up and stretch your legs with a walk through the campground to the pond. From the highway, RV1 is on the left and RV2 is on the right. Also from the highway, the road down to the campground is to the right of the RV sites with orange cones on either side of it. Please do not take RVs down the campground road without clearing it with an online or on-site host. Showers and flushing toilets are located a short walk down the campground road. Stay to your left and you can't miss them.

Please do not approach the house or immediate backyard for it, as this is a separate rental.

HOUSE RENTERS: Take the FAR LEFT and southern most gate (to the left of the mailbox). You will pass some rows of our apple orchard trees on your left, and then the driveway will open up to the house on your left. The front door with the keypad for entry faces the highway.
