Sunset & City lights | Kings Canyon & Sequoia

Three queen size beds, a couch bed, a futon, air mattresses and cots.

Awesome place to get away from it all. Enjoy the views of the mountains, sunsets and city lights at night. Large kitchen, cooks dream. Open and spacious living room. Great for a big family or group of friends. Approximately 20 minutes from the Kings Canyon National Park entrance gate.

This is a three bedroom, two bath home with spacious living room, kitchen and dining room.  All bedrooms have queen size beds.  For larger groups we have the above mentioned sleeping options.  Having a large gathering?  You can spill out into the yard too. Bring your tents and enjoy stargazing and sleeping with the sounds of nature.  Cook inside or outside on either our gas or charcoal grill outside (BRING YOUR OWN CHARCOAL). Make Meals! Make memories!

Master bedroom/ensuite is located on one side of the house.  Two other bedrooms and a bathroom are on the opposite end.  We have all the essential utensils and appliances to cook.  We normally have basic spices, but that can change depending on the last guests (Best to bring what you need).

WIFI if you need to work or stream your favorite shows. You can log into your streaming accounts on our tv (Don't forget to log out).

10 acres to explore with a seasonal pond. Bring your fishing pole, but we ask that you catch and release for our other guests.

Centrally located between King's Canyon and Sequoia National Parks.  Perfect for exploring one park, resting up, and exploring the other.

There are no large grocery stores in the immediate area.  Bring what you need from Fresno, Visalia or Sanger.  There is a mini mart mentioned below as well as a market in the National Park at Grant Grove.  To reach either, you are looking at a 15-20 minute drive down the mountain, or up into the park.

LAST STOP FOR GAS/MINI-Mart: Clingans Junction Valero 35468 E. Kings Canyon Rd, Yokuts Valley, CA 93675

Please reach out with any questions.  There is too much to detail here: like the apple orchard; you are free to pick from, or the goats... and the list goes on.

Location

Please be advised that if you do not have Verizon wireless, you will likely lose service at some point but many now have some services up here! Please screenshot/print the BELOW DIRECTIONS just in case.

DIRECTIONS: Navigator apps push anyone coming from the south up the 245 highway north. It is a very winding and slow climb up the hill. It's doable (except large rigs), but we HIGHLY recommend continuing north on highway 99 to Fresno and then heading east on highway 180 up the mountain. It's faster, much more scenic and a smoother drive. This route also goes right by the nearest gas station on your way up!

Coming east on highway 180, out of Fresno, that gas station is a Valero at 35468 E Kings Canyon Rd. aka Clingan's Junction. From Clingan's, head east on the 180 for exactly 13.8 miles to the 245 highway (it comes up quick with only 1 or 2 small signs), make a right, heading south. If you hit the park entrance, you went too far, turn around drive back about 5 min and look for the 245 on your left. Once on the 245 heading south, go 5.1 miles. On your right you will pass the 'Pinehurst Lodge', which is on google, an easy reference point and is 1 minute or less away (great food!). Then a few seconds later the U.S Forest Service "Work Center" is on the right and we are just past that on the same side of the road. If you hit the 'leaving sequoia national forest' sign and the community center, you went too far, turn around and drive 1 minute back and look for the apple ranch on your left. Pass the apple trees and then turn left into the driveway. The correct driveway is between the apple trees and the mailbox.

ARRIVAL

HOUSE RENTERS: Take the FAR LEFT and southern most gate (to the left of the mailbox). Pulling in the driveway, you will pass some rows of our apple orchard trees on your left, and then the driveway will open up to the house on your left. The front door with the keypad for entry faces the highway.
